The effects of an onabotulinumtoxinA injection are temporary. Your symptoms may return completely within 3 months. After repeat injections, it may take less and less time before your symptoms return, especially if your body develops antibodies to the botulinum toxin.
BOTOX is intended for injection into extraocular muscles utilizing the electrical activity recorded from the tip of the injection needle as a guide to placement within the target muscle.

Patients should discontinue anti-platelet therapy at least 3 days before the injection procedure. Patients on anti-coagulant therapy need to be managed appropriately to decrease the risk of bleeding. Appropriate caution should be exercised when performing a cystoscopy.
Repeat BOTOX treatment may be administered when the effect of a previous injection has diminished, but generally pelo sooner than 12 weeks after the previous injection.

You should minimize strenuous activity and avoid extensive sun or heat exposure for about 24 hours after treatment and until any swelling or redness has resolved.
Blepharospasm and strabismus (eye misalignment [one eye faces a different way to the other]) associated with dystonia in people aged 12 years and older
Botox may cause loss of strength or general muscle weakness, vision problems, or dizziness within hours to weeks of receiving the injection. If this happens, do not drive a car, operate machinery, sculptra or do other dangerous activities.
Detrusor Overactivity associated with a Neurologic Condition An intravesical instillation of diluted local anesthetic with or without sedation, or general anesthesia may be used prior to injection, per local sitio practice.
Heaviness or Drooping: Too much Botox in the forehead can sometimes cause the brows to feel heavy or even lead to brow ptosis (drooping). Similarly, incorrect placement or dosage around the eyes can lead to eyelid ptosis (drooping eyelid)
Reconstituted BOTOX is injected into the detrusor muscle via a flexible or rigid cystoscope, avoiding the trigone. The bladder should be instilled with enough saline to achieve adequate visualization for the injections, but over-distension should be avoided.

Start conservatively if you're new to Botox. It's often easier to add a little more in a follow-up appointment than to correct an overdone result (which requires waiting for the Botox to wear off naturally, usually over 3-4 months).
